Festes de La Mercè 2007, Barcelona
This is the Spanish city’s biggest festival – a tribute to their patron saint, the Virgin de la Merce. Barcelona is a vibrant city at the quietest of times, but when fire-breathing dragons, costumed devils, human pyramids, Sardana dance groups, orchestras, DJs and big-name bands descend upon its wide avenues and cobbled backstreets, the party atmosphere is bound to be electric. Events run from the 22nd and culminate in the grand fiesta on the 24th of September. Find out more here.
